IWC launched the Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition Le Petit Prince IW515202, the first Big Pilot’s integrating a chronograph. The price is €17,300

IWC presented the Big Pilot’s Watch Monopusher Edition “Le Petit Prince”, the first Big Pilot’s Watch integrating a chronograph function. In particular, the measurement of an event can be controlled via a single push-button integrated into the distinctive conical crown.

The monopusher design was the only option in order not to alter the iconic design of the Big Pilot's watch with two push-buttons on the side of the case.

When the button is pushed once, a new timing starts. Pressing the button a second time stops the timing. Stop times of up to one hour are displayed on the totaliser at 12 o’clock. When the button is pushed a third time, the chronograph is reset to zero.

Protected by a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, the sunburst dial has a deep-blue colour - a tradition for IWC’s special editions dedicated to the famous novel of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - that offers an excellent contrast to the rhodium-plated hands and applied numerals, all generously filled with Super-LumiNova.

Housed in an imposing 46.2 mm x 14.6 mm crafted from stainless steel alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces, the IWC-manufactured 59365 calibre is one of three in-house chronograph movements of the brand and the only one that is wound manually. 

Visible through the sapphire-glass case back, the hand-wound movement beats at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and features a sector indicating how much of the 8-day power reserve remains in the mainspring.

Water resistant to 6 bar (approximately 60 metres / 200 feet), the watch is completed by a brown calfskin strap with a stainless steel folding clasp.
