Jaeger-LeCoultre - Reverso Minute Repeater 71225SQ

Jaeger-LeCoultre presented the new Reverso Minute Repeater 71225SQ, a 10-piece limited edition with a price of Euro 305,000.

Continuing the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Reverso (you can read its history here), Jaeger-LeCoultre released the Reverso Minute Repeater ref. 71225SQ.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has a long tradition in the creation of chiming mechanisms having developed more than 200 chiming calibres in its exceptional history started in 1833 and this is not the first time that a Reverso model houses a minute repetition complication. In fact, in 1994 La Grande Maison presented the Reverso Répétition Minutes. It was the first time that the Swiss brand had miniaturised a minute repeater for a wristwatch and was the world’s first rectangular minute repeater movement.

The new Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater is powered by a revised version of the manufacture Calibre 944, a movement that embodies technical advances like the patented trebuchet hammers, a silent regulator and a new generation of gongs. Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, it offers an autonomy of 35 hours.

Measuring 51.1 x 31 mm with a thickness of 11.41 mm, the pink gold case of this model displays the time on both sides.

The front dial is entirely skeletonised making it possible to admire the minute repeater mechanism while in action. Beneath a large bow-shaped bridge that sweeps from 11 o’clock to 7 o’clock, the components appear almost to be floating in three dimensions, the sense of visual depth and transparency enhanced by faceted indexes that are cantilevered from the chemin de fer minutes track. 

The reverse dial is more sober with vertical Côtes de Genève stripes extending over the entire height of the main plate enhanced by the colourful accents provided by blued screws and golden hands and hour markers.

The chiming is activated by means of a newly designed slider set into the side of the case.
