Norqain presented the new Adventure NEVEREST line . Adventure NEVEREST 40 mm Glacier, Forest Green, Steel and Gold. Prices.
Swiss brand Norqain is launching today a new sub-collection in its Adventure family whose name - NEVEREST - is both a reference to the never resting, pro-active attitude of "Norqainers" and to Mount Everest.
The connection to the Earth's highest mountain can be found not only in the love for mountain climbing (the logo of the brand - two side-by-side N letters - symbolises a mountain peak) but also in Norqain’s support of the Butterfly Help Project in Nepal. This organisation, created by Norbu Sherpa and Andrea Sherpa-Zimmermann of Wild Yak Expeditions, helps families of sherpas who have lost their lives in the Himalayan mountains and gives their children access to education. This way, Norqain is willing to help to change the lives of children in Nepal while also bringing greater awareness to the adventure of climbing Mount Everest and how it impacts sherpas and their families.
The three new NEVEREST models are the first timepieces in the Adventure collection to be fitted with the high-performance proprietary Calibre NN20/1, which the brand developed in partnership with Kenissi.
The first model is the Adventure NEVEREST 40 mm Glacier, a model characterised by a captivating silvery look - from the steel brushed and satined case, to the grey bezel and dial - enhanced by red accents used for the central seconds hand and the “Chronometer” inscription.
The cracked white dial was inspired to the jagged crevasses of Khumbu Icefall, the most dangerous stage of the climb to Everest’s summit.
The markers and hour, minute and seconds hands are coated in X1 Superluminova, which is 60% stronger than the standard Superluminova.
A knurled texture on the edge of the steel bezel and the unidirectional-rotating click system make it easier to manipulate and keep track of passed time.
The Adventure NEVEREST 40 mm Glacier can be matched to its stainless steel bracelet (CHF 3,250), a textured rubber strap (CHF 3,050) or an ultra comfortable fabric strap (CHF 3,050).
The second model is the Adventure NEVEREST 40 mm Forest Green. Its dial features a new take on the signature “NORQAIN pattern” with a forest green and black design that enhances the sporty DNA of the timepiece. Its stainless steel bezel has a black ceramic ring.
This model is available with a stainless steel bracelet (CHF 3,190), a fabric strap (CHF 2,990) or a black rubber strap (CHF 2,990).
The third Adventure NEVEREST 40 mm model comes in steel and gold and it is limited to 100 pieces, as indicated by the engraving “ONE OF 100” on the caseback. The stainless steel case is equipped with a 5N red gold bezel fitted with a black ceramic ring.
Like the previous model, the dial features the typical pattern with a grey and black design. With their red colour, the “Chronometer” text and the tip of the central seconds hand add a nice touch to the ensemble.
This limited edition model is offered with a steel bracelet (CHF 4,580), a fabric strap (CHF 4,380) or a textured black rubber strap (CHF 4,380).
All models are water resistant up to a pressure of 20 ATM (approximately 200 metres / 660 feet) and are equipped with NORQAIN’s Manufacture Calibre NN20/1, visible through the sapphire glass caseback.
This self-winding movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with an autonomy of 70 hours. COSC-certified as a chronometer, the timekeeping performance of this calibre is ensured by a traversing bridge with two-point fixation.
The NN20/1 is decorated with the golden “double-N” logo and the brand’s core values engraved on the bridge as “Adventure – Freedom – Independence.”
Ten per cent of the earnings of NEVEREST sales will be donated to the Butterfly Help Project. norqain.com
