Richard Mille - RM 029 Automatic Le Mans Classic

Richard Mille presented the RM 029 Automatic Le Mans Classic, a limited edition dedicated to the historic racing event. Price is CHF 155000 plus VAT.

Richard Mille has been a partner of the Le Mans Classic, the world’s most iconic historic racing event, since 2002.

Even though the next edition has been postponed to July 2022 for the well known restrictions, Richard Mille dedicates a new timepiece – the 8th of this special partnership – to this race, so much loved by the public.

A limited edition of 150 timepieces, the new RM 029 Automatic Le Mans Classic is immediately recognisable for the typical green and white colour combination of the racing event.

Measuring 40.10 mm x 48.15 mm x 13.10 mm, the case features a caseband milled from a solid block of white Quartz TPT, offset by front and back bezels in green Quartz TPT. 

The double Le Mans stripes have been created from separate pieces of white Quartz TPT that has been inlaid into the green Quartz TPT bezel at 12 and 6 o’clock – a first for the brand. 

A key element of the openworked dial is the 24-hour counter at 2 o’clock that pays homage to the race and to the hundreds of automobiles and drivers who relay over the 24 hours, starting at 4 pm (indicated by a blue arrow).

Other distinctive parts of the dial are the oversize date aperture at 4 o'clock and the logo of Le Mans Classic at 7 o'clock.

The skeletonised RMAS7 calibre is made in Grade 5 titanium movement and features a variable geometry rotor that drives the double-barrel system delivering a power reserve of 55 hours. 

Water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet, the timepiece is completed by an ultra comfortable white vented strap in rubber that makes the case stripes stand out beautifully.
