Omega introduced two new Seamaster timepieces dedicated to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 (23 July - 8 August 2021).

Made in the precious metal that is also the symbol of the ultimate prize for an athlete, the new Seamaster Aqua Terra Tokyo 2020 Gold Editions are presented in two sizes: 38 mm and 41 mm.

The polished blue ceramic dial is characterised by a laser-engraved Tokyo 2020 pattern with large gold hands filled with white Super-LumiNova.

The indexes of the 38 mm version differ for their shape, reminiscent of a sailboat hull. Moreover, the date aperture is not trapezoidal but round.

The small ZrO2 text just below the central axis is the chemical formula of Zirconium dioxide, one of the most versatile ceramic materials.

The polished-brushed 4-screw caseback features a transparent sapphire crystal with a Tokyo 2020 logo through which it is possible to admire the Omega’s Master Chronometer Calibre 8801 (38 mm) and 8901 (41 mm), both beating at the frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hz) with a power reserve of 55 (Calibre 8801) or 60 hours (Calibre 8901).

These self-winding movements with Co-Axial escapement are certified as Master Chronometer by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, and resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. Balance bridge and oscillating weight are crafted from Sedna gold.
