 Swiss brand Armin Strom is introducing today the Tribute 1, a completely new dress watch reinterpreted for contemporary tastes and enriched by technical innovations and impeccable finishes.

Crafted form stainless steel, the Tribute 1 has a diameter of 38 mm, ideal for a dress watch, and it is just 9 mm thick.

The elegant design is highlighted by the alternation of satin-brushed and polished surfaces. It features angular lugs (first introduced with the Gravity Equal Force) that contribute to the modern look of the watch. The lug to lug distance is 18 mm. The crown is located at 2 o’clock for enhanced comfort.

The small embossment on the bezel at 6 o'clock is a nod to a signature element of the brand, the small "lip" that was originally designed to offer a surface for personalizing the watch with engraved initials.

Protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, the off-center dial indicates hours, minutes and seconds. Even the manually polished hands are produced in-house by Armin Strom.

On the right, the eye is attracted by the large barrel, guaranteeing a power reserve of 100 hours, and its sculpted bridge that, for this first edition, is made in white gold. The arbor of this barrel turns around the mainspring within the barrel itself, thus increasing efficiency while conserving space.

The hand-wound manufacture Caliber AMW21 beats at the frequency of 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour) and it is equipped with a flat hairspring with a variable inertia balance wheel. It is adorned with Côtes de Genève, polished jewel sinks and a circular grained mainplate. All edges are hand beveled.

On both sides, finishes are at the highest Haute Horlogerie standards. Claude Greisler, Master Watchmaker and co-founder of the revitalized Armin Strom, explains: "I’ve been obsessed with every detail of this timepiece, particularly when it comes to finishing. Hand polishing the dial-side of each barrel bridge takes over 12 hours to complete. To make the inaugural iteration even more special, we chose to produce that bridge in solid white gold. The gear train bridge on the backside is beveled and polished in 60° - a process that’s far more complex to execute and as a result takes twice as long."

Delivered with a grey Alcantara calf leather strap with double folding clasp in stainless steel, the watch is water resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (approximately 50 metres / 165 feet).

The first edition of the Armin Strom Tribute 1 (ref. ST21-TRI.75.AL.M.35) is limited to 25 pieces and priced to   CHF 13,900, which is indeed very appealing at this level of quality. It comes with a 10-year warranty, doubling the standard warranty typically offered by the Swiss brand. arminstrom.com
