Bulgari presented 3 new Divas’ Dream watches for 2021: Divas’ Dream Peacock Dischi, Divas’ Dream Peacock Diamonds and Divas’ Dream Peacock Tourbillon

Bulgari recently presented three new Divas’ Dream watches for 2021: the Divas’ Dream Peacock Dischi, the Divas’ Dream Peacock Diamonds and the Divas’ Dream Peacock Tourbillon Lumière.

Crafted using some of the world’s most prestigious decorative arts, these new creations combine haute joaillerie and haute horlogerie and bring to life the dials using sophisticated techniques such as marquetry, miniature painting and champlevé. 

This series of Divas’ Dream watches pays homage to the regal beauty of the peacock, nature’s most diva-like figure.

Crafted in a limited edition of 50 pieces, the Divas’ Dream Peacock Dischi ref. 103473 features a natural peacock feather marquetry dial. This inlay technique dates back to antiquity, popular in Renaissance Italy before being revived by Bvugari in the 1970s.

The eye-catching dial is set with 24 natural hand-cut feather elements with a central circle fully depicting the “eye” of the peacock feather. 

After a meticulous selection process, each feather is passed over an antique brass steam engine to reveal its natural brilliance. 

They are then trimmed, glued, cut and pieced together to create the watch’s silky and reflective mosaic finish. 

The elegance of the feather marquetry dial meets watchmaking expertise in the in-house BVL 308 "dischi" automatic movement, with two rotating discs to indicate the hours and minutes respectively through a round and a pear brilliant-cut diamond. 

The case is embraced at either end by two fan-shaped motifs that connect to a deep blue alligator bracelet. The price is CHF 65,000.

Next in the series, the Divas’ Dream Peacock Diamonds ref. 103348 features a peacock motif set against a mother-of-pearl backdrop. 

The bird is hand-painted with partitions evoking the precious Roman mosaics in blue and green shades. To create the peacock outline that adorns the dial, Bulgari uses a goldsmithing technique called champlevé that dates back to the Middle Ages. It leaves the outline of the design slightly raised, creating delicate contours which can then be filled in. 

The beautiful tones of the dial are framed by diamonds and enhanced by a supple bracelet featuring the Diva signature fan-shaped motif, also set with diamonds. Inside, the self-winding Calibre BVL 191 beats at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph) and offers 42 hours of power reserve. Price: CHF 95,000.

A 10-piece limited edition, the Divas’ Dream Peacock Tourbillon Lumière ref. 103351 features a 37 mm rose gold case, bezel and lugs set with brilliant-cut diamonds and a skeletonized dial decorated with natural peacock feather marquetry and snow-set diamonds. 

The skeletonized tourbillon movement, the hand-wound BVL 208 caliber, beats at the frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 64 hours.

Decorated with real peacock feathers, each dial is created by a single artisan in a process that takes some six weeks to complete. The price of this exceptional creation is CHF 147,000. bulgari.com
