The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback with green dial and bezel (ref. 5200-0153) has a price of €16,240/$17,200.

After interpretations in black, grey and blue, the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback model by Blancpain is now available in a new version with green dial and bezel.

The special nuance of this model is not easy to achieve and even more difficult is to obtain a perfect match between dial and bezel.

The new dial has a beautiful texture that includes a sunburst effect with a pattern of lines radiating from the centre. The chronograph counters are hollowed out and snailed for increased depth. The dial is then coated with several nanometric layers of material. As the result, the surface reveals eye-catching shades of green which change according to the angle of illumination.

The unidirectional rotating bezel features a green ceramic insert that is the ideal frame for the beautiful dial. Liquidmetal is used for the diving scale.

The 43.6 mm x 15.25 mm case in satin-brushed black ceramic houses the Manufacture F385 calibre, a self-winding chronograph movement that beats at a frequency of 5 Hz, enabling each second to be divided into 1/10th intervals. This high frequency guarantees increased accuracy, particularly when timing events. The autonomy, when fully wound, is 50 hours.

Equipped with vertical clutch and column-wheel, this movement offers a flyback function that enables the chronograph to be reset to zero and restarted instantaneously by simply pressing the push-piece located at 4 o'clock.

Thanks to the adoption of a balance-spring made in silicon – a material with anti-magnetic properties that enable the watch to dispense with the inner Faraday cage – it was possible to display the movement with its 18-carat gold oscillating weight clad in NAC (a platinum alloy) through the sapphire crystal case back.

The water-resistant chronograph pushers also enable use underwater to depths of 300 metres / 1,000 feet without any risk of damaging the watch.
