Rolex unveiled a completely revised Oyster Perpetual range welcoming a new 41 mm model, the Oyster Perpetual 41, as well as new versions of the Oyster Perpetual 36 with dials in vivid colours. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 mm ref. 124300 and Oyster Perpetual 36 mm ref. 126000 have prices of Euro 5,600 and Euro 5,300 respectively.
Not only Submariner. Rolex also unveiled a completely revised Oyster Perpetual range welcoming a new 41 mm model, the Oyster Perpetual 41, as well as new versions of the Oyster Perpetual 36 with dials in vivid colours.
Made from Oystersteel, the case of the new Oyster Perpetual is fitted with a domed bezel and houses the new Calibre 3230, launched by Rolex this year.
This self-winding mechanical movement offers significant gains in terms of precision and power reserve as well as resistance to shocks and magnetic fields. It incorporates the Chronergy escapement patented by Rolex, which combines high energy efficiency with great reliability. Thanks to its barrel architecture and the escapement’s optimization, its power reserve extends to approximately 70 hours.
For the Oyster Perpetual 41 two options have been released: the first has a silver, sunray-finish dial with hands and hour markers in 18 ct yellow gold, the second features a bright black sunray-finish dial with hands and hour markers in 18 ct white gold.
The Oyster Perpetual 36 offers lacquer dials in five new colours: candy pink, turquoise blue, yellow, coral red and green.
All these models are enhanced by a Chromalight display: the hands and hour markers are coated or filled with a luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow in dark conditions. The crystal is made of virtually scratch-proof sapphire.
Guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres / 330 feet, the case of the Oyster Perpetual is crafted from a solid block of Oystersteel. The case back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The Twinlock winding crown is fitted with a double waterproofness system.
The three-piece link Oyster bracelet is satin-finished on top with polished sides. It is fitted with a folding Oysterclasp and the Easylink comfort extension link, developed by Rolex, that allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm. It is the first time that this extension system has been used on a bracelet for the Oyster Perpetual range.
Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual 41 and Oyster Perpetual 36 carry the Superlative Chronometer certification that applies to the fully assembled watch, after casing the movement. It guarantees a precision of the order of −2/+2 seconds per day, that is more than twice that required of an official chronometer.
