Panerai keeps experimenting with materials and their combinations. The latest one is a first in the Submersible family pairing together Goldtech and Carbotech in the new Submersible Goldtech Orocarbo 44mm PAM01070.
Goldtech is a gold alloy with an intense and stable color made possible by its significant copper content and enrichment with platinum.
Used for the unidirectional rotating bezel bezel, the crown and the crown bridge lever, Carbotech is a composite consisting of overlapping carbon fiber sheets with alternating orientations, aggregated using controlled temperature and high pressure and fused with a late-generation polymer binder.
The 44 mm case of the new model frames a black dial featuring applied indexes and satiné soleil decoration, another first in the Submersible collection. Luminescent indexes, hands and dots in green/blue make the dial immediately legible in poor light conditions or underwater.
The screwed dodecagonal case back, in titanium with black DLC coating, hides to the view the 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) P.900 mechanical calibre, an automatic movement entirely designed and developed in-house that combines a power reserve of three days with a date indication.
Water resistant up to 30 bar (about 300 meters / 990 feet deep), the watch is equipped with a black rubber strap and a trapezoidal pin buckle in titanium with black DLC coating.
An additional strap composed of Panerai Sportech in black with ecru stitching also accompanies the watch, along with a screwdriver for removing the buckle.
