Blancpain introduced the new Villeret Ultraplate Ref. 6224, the latest addition to the family of Villeret models: an ultra-slim 38 mm with date display. Prices of the Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate 38 mm start from Swiss Francs 8,900 in stainless steel with black alligator strap (ref. 6224-1127-55B) and Swiss Francs 16,300 in red gold with brown alligator strap (ref. 6224-3642-55B).
Blancpain introduced a new addition to its family of Villeret timepieces: an ultra-slim 38 mm model with date display.
The new Villeret Ultraplate Ref. 6224 maintains all the typical traits of the Villeret collection that, since the early 1980s, has been characterised by a slender double-stepped case, an understated dial, applied gold hour-markers and leaf-shaped hands.
Proposed in stainless steel or red gold, the elegant 8.35mm-thick case frames a white or opaline dial that is enriched by 28 gold appliques carefully positioned by hand to form the Roman numerals.
The hours and minutes hands are shaped like hollowed sage leaves, while the seconds are marked by a slender hand bearing the initials of the founder, Jehan-Jacques Blancpain. The dial indications are completed by an optimally sized date display at 3 o'clock.
Through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, it is possible to appreciate the manufacture Calibre 1150 and its finishes including circular-graining and côtes de Genève decorations.
Embellished by a honeycomb pattern, the gold oscillating weight winds the two series-coupled barrels and high-performance springs that deliver a remarkable power reserve of 100 hours, more than doubling the standard capacities of around 40 to 48 hours.
Moreover, the use of a silicon balance-spring guarantees non-magnetic and chronometric properties.
The new Villeret Ultraplate 38 mm can be matched to a black or brown alligator leather strap or to a mille mailles bracelet in steel or gold.
Both the steel and the gold models are available in gem-set variations featuring 8 diamonds on the dial and one row of diamonds set in circle on the bezel.
