Laurent Ferrier celebrates its 10th anniversary with the release of the Classic Origin Opaline, a classical 40 mm round timepiece that maintains the same smooth curving lines of the 2010 inaugural model but that is housed in a Grade 5 titanium case to add a sporty touch to the ensemble.
With this model, Laurent Ferrier uses Grade 5 titanium for the first time. This material is widely used in both the medical field and the aviation industry for its lightness and resistance to salty air and corrosion as well as for being hypoallergenic.
The watch is equipped with the Maison's iconic 'Ball-shaped' crown, not only a graceful detail but also practical for easy adjustment. Water resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet, the case has a thickness of 10.70 mm.
The silvery-white opaline dial is strongly characterized by hour and minute hands shaped like the Assegai weapon used by the Zulu. The slate grey dial's hour track is marked with burgundy-coloured numerals offering good legibility. A small snailed seconds display, featuring a baton-shaped hand is located above 6 o’clock. All three hands are formed of 18-carat white gold.
The hand-wound Calibre LF 116.01 and its beautiful finishes are visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
Beating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offering an autonomy of 80 hours, the movement is equipped with a free-sprung balance and a Breguet overcoil for enhanced precision and improved isochronism.
The bridges are decorated with a microblasted, black rhodium finish and hand-polished edges. Each screwhead is mirror polished and the escapement bridge is adorned with a hand-made interior angle.
Matched to a light brown Barbialla calf leather strap with Alcantara lining secured to the wrist by a titanium pin buckle, the Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Opaline ref. LCF036.TI.G1G has a price of Swiss Francs 28,500 excluding taxes. laurentferrier.ch
