Glashütte Original just presented two new versions of the SeaQ Panorama Date diver's watch, the first in a bi-colour stainless steel and red gold composition with a grey dial and the second matching a black dial to a full red gold case.
Launched in 2019 (you can read our hands-on review here), the SeaQ Panorama Date is a top-quality diver's watch with no-compromise finishes, an innovative manufacture movement and a refined look with more character than most watches in the same category.
Embellished by a sunray finish, the galvanic grey dial of the bi-colour model and the silver-grey hue of its steel case are well complemented by the glow of the rotating bezel and the crown, both crafted in red gold. Galvanic gold numerals, indices and hands provide additional warm accents.
Black and gold lend the red gold version a strong presence. The unidirectional rotating bezel’s ceramic ring with white lacquer inlay, the generous use of luminous white highlights and the Panorama Date’s white numerals on a black ground ensure excellent readability. The hands, Arabic numerals and rod indexes feature elegant galvanic gold surfaces that stand out on the black dial, also enhanced by a sunray finish.
Thanks to the screw-down crown and the centrally screwed sapphire crystal case back, the SeaQ Panorama Date is water-resistant up to 30 bar, around 300 metres / 1,000 feet.
The 43.2 mm case houses the automatic Calibre 36-13 with the typical Glashütte three-quarter plate architecture. All components are meticulously finished with decorations and aesthetic refinements like perlage, sunburst finishing, stripe finish, bevelling, and polishing.
Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this movement delivers first-class accuracy and stability thanks to the innovative silicon spiral and the single spring barrel ensuring a power reserve of more than 100 hours or more than 4 days.
The SeaQ Panorama Date meets the most rigorous German and international DIN and ISO quality standards after undergoing intensive in-house testing to certify its water resistance and airtightness. All the pieces must successfully complete a 24-day test, the excellence test, that includes a simulation of the conditions of everyday wear, and a 12-day monitoring of rate precision in six different positions. An individual certificate provides evidence of this test.
Both models are available with a waterproof grey nylon mesh strap developed especially for the SeaQ or with a black rubber strap with relief pattern with the possibility to choose between a pin buckle or a fold fastener.
