The LAB 02 by Corum features a manual movement that offers not only a flying tourbillon but also a sort of flying gear train. The Corum LAB 02 can be customized choosing the colour of gold and further enhanced with diamonds or other gemstones. Only 10 pieces will be produced with prices starting from Swiss Francs 180,000.
Following the launch, in 2018, of the LAB collection with its first model, Corum is now presenting the new LAB 02 timepiece.
The LAB collection includes exclusive models available only as limited editions and the LAB 02 is without doubts a wristwatch that demonstrates extraordinary craftsmanship.
The result of 2 years of research and development, the LAB 02 features a manual movement that offers not only a flying tourbillon but also a sort of flying gear train.
Consisting of 416 individual components, meticulously skeletonized, the hand assembled caliber CO 300 is characterized by a flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock, flying wheels that track the hours, minutes and seconds, and a bridge set directly onto the mainplate.
Building a movement that is not sandwiched between the mainplate and bridge was the main challenge. In fact, the LAB 02 required a much longer axis for the gear train, and, without having a top bridge, needed ball bearings instead of rubies on the mainplate to add strength and stability. The single mainplate has also been highly skeletonized.
The entire movement is then placed on a fully transparent sapphire plate for increased visibility and to give the impression that the elements are floating in space.
The LAB 02 is further equipped with a grand date function at 4 o'clock and a power reserve indicator (55 hours) that it is visible via a sapphire glass on the side of the case at 8 o'clock.
Housed in a 45 mm round case, the Corum LAB 02 can be customized choosing the colour of gold and further enhanced with diamonds or other gemstones. Only 10 pieces will be produced with prices starting from Swiss Francs 180,000. corum-watches.com

Technically interesting but there's something that does not convince me completely. Maybe the pictures.
