The 1919 Chronotimer line by Porsche Design expands with a new model characterized by a subtle blue colour used for the dial and the strap.
Featuring the characteristic openings at the lugs that make the model immediately recognisable, the 42 mm x 14.90 mm case of the 1919 Chronotimer Flyback Blue & Leather is crafted from titanium, a material that is 46 percent lighter than stainless steel, but significantly stronger and also non-magnetic, anti-allergic as well as saltwater and heat resistant.
The dial offers excellent visibility from any angle thanks to a thin bezel which leaves space to the time and chronograph indications, with the minute indices positioned on the outer edges and the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph registers at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively. The dial is completed by a function indicator at 9 o’clock and the date window at 4 o’clock.
Clean Arabic numerals and bold markers combined with Super-Luminova increase the readability in poor light conditions. Sevenfold and hard coated on both sides, the sapphire crystal prevents all light reflections.
The 1919 Chronotimer Flyback Blue & Leather is powered by the 4 Hz (28,800 vph) Werk 01.200 chronograph calibre offering a flyback mechanism that allows the measurement of successive intervals.
The mechanism and the energy-optimised rotor are clearly visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The rotor is PVD-coated and equipped with a weight crafted from tungsten, a material which provides the necessary weight for an efficient winding. The power reserve is 48 hours. This movement is COSC-certified as a chronometer by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute.
The blue strap is made of original Porsche interior calf leather.
