Like all the models of Heritage collection by Montblanc, the new Manufacture Pulsograph Limited Edition is inspired by historical Minerva watches from the 1940s and 1950s. The new Montblanc Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph Limited Edition 100 ref. 126095 has a price of Euro 36,900.
Like all the models of the Heritage collection by Montblanc, the new Pulsograph Limited Edition is inspired by historical Minerva watches from the 1940s and 1950s.
Minerva became a department of Montblanc following the acquisition of the Fabrique d'Horlogerie Minerva SA by Swiss luxury goods group Richemont in 2007. You can read more about this subject in our article "History of Minerva, from its foundation to the integration into Montblanc").
Equipped with a pulsometer scale, the new Heritage Pulsograph Limited Edition (only 100 pieces will be produced) is one of those timepieces that collectors often call the ‘doctor’s watches’ as they were used by doctors in the past to check a patient’s heart rate.
The timepiece features a rose gold 40 mm x 12.65 mm case that frames a smoked tobacco-brown dial with “grainé” hour ring and sunray finishes. The dial is slightly domed with the luminescent bent dauphine hour- and minute-hands following its curvature.
The two counters indicate the chronograph 30 minutes and the small seconds, at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock respectively. Just like in the original model, the chronograph minute counter marks the 3, 6 and 9 minutes, a feature that was originally designed to measure the duration of telephone calls.
The transparent sapphire crystal caseback displays the beautifully finished monopusher chronograph Calibre MB M13.21.
This high-end manufacture movement is composed of a large balance wheel beating at the traditional frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour, a column wheel and horizontal coupling, the iconic V-shaped chronograph bridge whose designed was patented in 1912, and the emblematic hand-decorated Minerva arrow. To better harmonise with the rose gold case and the tobacco-brown dial, it features rose gold-coated plate and bridges.
Matching the colour of the dial, the brown Sfumato alligator strap reinforces the vintage tone of this model.
