The latest addition to the Villeret collection is the Quantième Complet ref. 6654-3640 a complete calendar model in red gold that is paired to a midnight blue dial. The Blancpain Villeret Quantième Complet can be matched to a midnight-blue alligator strap (ref. 6654-3640-55) or to a red gold "mille mailles" bracelet (ref. 6654-3640-MMB) with prices of Swiss Francs 24,000 and Swiss Francs 42,000, respectively.
Named after the village where Blancpain was founded in 1735 the Villeret collection is the most classic and elegant of the brand (if you are interested, you can read its complete history here).
The latest addition to the line is the Villeret Quantième Complet, a complete calendar model in red gold that is paired to a midnight blue dial.
The attractive dial features discreet apertures indicating the day of the week and month at 12 o'clock while the date is indicated by a serpentine hand. At 6 o’clock, the moon-phase display is characterized by a mischievous face.
The applied hour-markers with Roman numerals are crafted in red gold, just like the four hands. The hour and minute hands are elegantly shaped like cut-out sage leaves while the seconds hand bears the initials of founder Jehan-Jacques Blancpain.
The 40 mm red gold case houses the 6654 self-winding movement comprised of 321 components and offering 72 hours of power reserve. It is equipped with a safety system that prevents any improper use of the functions, making it possible to set the complete calendar at any time without risks for the movement.
Thanks to the four under-lug correctors, the three calendar indications and the moon phase can be adjusted with a finger tip without needing any pusher tool. This patented solution offers another important benefit: the smooth case flanks are unmarred by corrector dimples, generally found on other calendar watches.
Visible through a sapphire crystal case-back, the movement features carefully executed decorations, such as the Côtes de Genève motif adorning the bridge and the honeycomb pattern that can be admired on the red gold oscillating weight.

Not a fan of the moon with a face but this watch is exquisite. Blancpain is one of my favorite brands.
ReplyDeletePersonally I prefer this vs hyper realistic representations of the moon. More elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe touch of elegance in this model is given by the rose gold Roman numerals in contrast with the blue colour tone of the dial. The Roman numerals shape seems to be inspired in Medieval manuscripts.
