During the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Laureus World Sports Awards, IWC Schaffhausen presented its 14th Laureus special edition watch, the Portugieser Hand-Wound Monopusher Edition “Laureus Sport for Good”. The new IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound Monopusher Edition “Laureus Sport for Good” (ref.IW515301) has a price of Euro 17,500 / US$ 16,600.
During the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Laureus World Sports Awards, IWC - a partner of the foundation since 2005 - presented its 14th Laureus special edition watch, the Portugieser Hand-Wound Monopusher Edition “Laureus Sport for Good”.
This special edition, limited to 500 pieces, is the first model in the Portugieser range with a monopusher chronograph. Like all the Laureus editions created by IWC, the new watch is characterized by a dial in the typical Laureus blue with rhodium-plated hands and appliques and just a touch of red.
Housed in a 46 mm x 13.9 mm stainless steel case that offers water resistance up to 3 bar, the IWC-manufactured hand-wound 59360 calibre beats at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph) nand offers a remarkable 8-day power reserve.
The monopusher chronograph can be started, stopped and reset using the single pushbutton that is integrated in the crown.
Engraved on the back of the watch is the winning design from the annual IWC drawing competition for participants of Laureus projects. This year’s contest, with the theme of “Time to Care”, was won by 15-year old Yi Xin, who is a participant of the “Special Olympics China” programme.
Matched to a black Santoni alligator leather strap, the new IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound Monopusher Edition “Laureus Sport for Good” (ref. IW515301) has a price of Euro 17,300 / US$ 16,600.
