The development of this model started over five years ago and the Streamliner name explains the inspiration behind it: the first high-speed trains from the Twenties and Thirties of the past Century.
In presenting it, Edouard Meylan, the CEO of H. Moser & Cie. remarked that the Streamliner is a chronograph which displays the time rather than a watch which features a chronograph.
The steel cushion case is 42.3 mm in diameter and 14.2 mm thick. It features an off-centre crown, adorned with an "M", at 4 o’clock to harmonize with the two chronograph push-buttons set at 10 and 2 o'clock.
Topped by a slightly domed Glassbox-type sapphire crystal, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic offers dynamic water resistance to 12 ATM, i.e. chronograph and flyback functions can be activated underwater.
The dynamism of the watch is emphasized by the smoothly integrated steel bracelet, with articulated links designed to follow the shape of the wrist. Its fluid lines are highlighted by the combination of a vertical brushed finish with polished surfaces.
Brushed and polished surfaces characterize also the case that feature hollowed and satin-finished forms on the sides, a design element typical of Moser timepieces.
The Streamliner is the first automatic chronograph with a central display to feature a flyback function for the minutes and seconds. This was possible thanks to a new movement developed by the specialized Swiss company AGENHOR with support from the teams at H. Moser & Cie.
Showcased through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the self-windingCalibre HMC 902 beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers 54 hours of power reserve thanks to its double barrel. The oscillating weight is not visible because it is placed between the movement and the dial. This way, it is possible to fully enjoy the beautiful architecture and finishes of this 434-parts column-wheel movement.
Featuring a new anthracite shade of grey, the dial is fumé and griffé, with two tracks around the circumference to count seconds and minutes. The 60 numeral at 12 o’clock brings to mind the stopwatches of the Sixties and Seventies.
The hands that measure the elapsed time (red for seconds and rhodium-plated for minutes) have a thicker base and a fine tip to ensure perfect legibility, a must for a chronograph. Legibility is further improved by the fact that the elapsed minute hand jumps instantly using the energy accumulated and then released by a snail cam equipping the calibre HMC 902.
To display the hours and minutes, the new Streamliner uses three-dimensional curved hands with inserts in Globolight, a ceramic-based material which contains Super-LumiNova.

I appreciate that they resisted to the temptation to launch the model with a blue dial!
