TAG Heuer has released the fifth of five limited-edition Monaco timepieces - each one inspired by the different decades from 1969 to 2019 - created to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Monaco.
A tribute to the 2010s style, the Monaco Calibre 11 50th Anniversary 2010's Special Edition features a charcoal sunray dial with silver and red touches and two rhodium-plated sunray sub-dials at 3 and 9 o'clock, well protected by a beveled and slightly domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating.
The distinctive 39 mm x 39 mm stainless steel square case is characterized by angled chronograph buttons on the right side and the crown on the left – an unconventional feature that has distinguished the Monaco over the past 50 years. When the watch was originally introduced, the crown was positioned on the left to remark that the watch did not need winding thanks to its automatic movement.
The caseback is engraved with the “Monaco Heuer” logo as well as “2009-2019 Special Edition” and “One of 169”. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet.
This Monaco model is powered by the automatic Calibre 11 movement beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and guaranteeing a 40-hour power reserve.
Matched to a black leather strap with grey lining and limited to 169 watches, the TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 50th Anniversary 2010's Special Edition ref. CAW211Z.FC6470 has a price of Swiss Francs 6,400. tagheuer.com
