Renowned for its timepieces featuring the rotor of their automatic movements on the dial side, Perrelet is enriching its First Class collection with an exclusive model that will be produced in just 240 pieces, the First Class Double Rotor Black Edition.
As the name suggests, this wristwatch is characterised by the patented Double rotor technology with a double oscillating mass that allows the automatic mechanism to accumulate energy from two rotors, the first placed under the calibre, the second visible on the dial.
Synchronised in their rotations, the two rotors feed the barrel with enhanced effectiveness while allowing the owner to appreciate the energy supply to the movement.
The new First Class Double Rotor Black Edition comes in a 42.50 mm x 10.70 mm steel case with black PVD coating and satin-brushed finishes except for the polished bezel. The middle case is decorated with a combination of polished and brushed grooves. The crown is personalised with an engraved Perrelet logo. The watch is water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet.
Protected by a slightly domed sapphire crystal, the openworked dial displays several details of the manufacture Calibre P-481 that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with an autonomy of 42 hours.
The bridges and plates are rhodium-plated and decorated with a frosted finish. The double oscillating mass on the dial side is open-worked, rhodium-plated and embellished with a Côtes de Genève finish.
Crafted from 4N rose gold, the central hour, minute and seconds hands, as well as the applied baton indices, stand out against the guilloché-decorated black ring. Finally, the central ruby adds a nice touch of colour while minimising wear and tear.
The sapphire crystal transparent caseback showcases the main rotor, which is also open-worked, rhodium-plated and engraved with the Perrelet logo. The caseback also displays the individual number of each of the 240 pieces that will be produced.
Matched to a black crocodile strap with a folding clasp embellished with the brand’s logo, the Perrelet First Class Double Rotor Black Edition ref. A1202/1 has a price of Euro 4,080. perrelet.com
