Eberhard celebrates its founding date, 1887, and the town where the Swiss Maison was originally founded by Georges-Lucien Eberhard, La Chaux-de-Fonds, with a new hand-wound model powered by a new, exclusive calibre.
The 1887 Remontage Manuel comes in a 41.80 mm x 9.60 mm stainless steel case with a slim bezel to leave ample space to the elegant dial.
This is available in two variations, with gold or rhodium-plated numbers and indices. The "clou de Paris" decoration and the trapezoidal date window, which has already been adopted by Eberhard & Co. for some historical models, add a retro touch to this model. The logo on the dial is part of the historical heritage and is documented in the archives of the early 1900s. The dial is completed by rhodium-plated or golden Roman numerals, rhomboidal indices and Dauphine hands. The central seconds hand stands out for its blue colour.
Entirely produced for Eberhard in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the new Calibre EB140 is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back revealing its beautiful finishes. The bridge for the balance wheel and the large bridge for the gear trains are decorated with a “circular wave” pattern. The screws are blued and the incisions are gilded. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this movement offers a 40-hour power reserve.
In addition to the traditional alligator leather strap, the new model can be matched to a Jacquard silk strap, in two different versions combined with the two dials, produced exclusively for Eberhard by the Ulturale tie-maker, one of the best-known ambassadors of this historic Neapolitan sartorial tradition.
Water resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet, the Eberhard 1887 Remontage Manuel Ref. 21028 has a price of Swiss Francs 3,640 with the silk strap or Swiss Francs 3,720 with the alligator leather strap. eberhard-co-watches.ch
