The Black Bay Chrono Dark is a new limited-edition version of the Black Bay chronograph, celebrating Tudor's partnerships with the Rugby World Cup 2019 and New Zealand’s national rugby team.
The number of timepieces created - 1181 - corresponds to the number of All Blacks players since the team’s creation. The series will grow over the coming years as new players join the ranks of the All Blacks.
The Black Bay Chrono Dark model features a 41 mm black PVD-coated steel case with satin finish that is matched to a steel bracelet with the same treatment. The colour choice for this watch is a clear reference to the All Blacks’ famous jersey.
The case is equipped with a fixed bezel in matt black PVD-treated steel topped with a matt black anodised aluminium disc with silvered markings.
The look of the Black Bay Chrono Dark is completed by the screw-down winding crown engraved with the Tudor rose and the chronograph pushers inspired by the first generation of Tudor chronographs.
Protected by a domed sapphire crystal, the dial offers excellent legibility thanks to the contrast between the black background and the characteristic angular hands known to collectors as "snowflake", here generously treated with white Super-LumiNova.
This limited edition is fitted with the Manufacture Calibre MT5813 with column wheel and vertical clutch. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), this self-winding movement with bidirectional rotor system offers a power reserve of 70 hours and is certified as a chronometer by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
A special engraving on the case back indicates the serial number of each timepiece.
Waterproof to 200 metres / 660 feet, the new Tudor Black Bay Chrono Dark Ref. 79360DK has a retail price of Euro 5,650 / US$ 5,925. tudorwatch.com
