TAG Heuer presented the Monaco 1999–2009 Limited Edition, the fourth of five limited edition Monaco timepieces created to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Monaco. TAG Heuer presented the Monaco 1999–2009 Limited Edition, the fourth of five limited edition Monaco timepieces - each one inspired by the different decades from 1969 to 2019 - created to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Monaco.
After the 1970s edition presented during the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix in May, the 1980s edition revealed at Le Mans in June, and the 1990s edition unveiled in New York in July, the fourth collector’s piece inspired by the early 2000s was unveiled today in Tokyo.
In line with the design codes of the decade from 1999 to 2009, the fourth 50th Anniversary Monaco sports a black and white look that truly highlights the unconventional and distinctive shape of the watch.
The white opaline seconds sub-dial and chronograph minutes counter stand out from the pitch-black background while striking red and orange touches serve as stylish hour markers.
The hour and minute hands and facetted applied indexes are filled with Superluminova for improved legibility.
Crafted from stainless steel, the 39 mm x 39 mm square case features the crown on the left and angled chronograph buttons on the right side, just like the 1969 original.
The caseback is engraved with the “Monaco Heuer” logo as well as “1999-2009 Special Edition” and “One of 169”.
Inside, the Calibre 11 automatic-winding chronograph movement beats at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 40 hours.
