In 2019 Omega celebrates the 50th anniversary of the film "On Her Majesty’s Secret Service" with the Seamaster Diver 300M "James Bond", a limited edition of 7,007 pieces. The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M "James Bond" Limited Edition ref. 210.22.42.20.01.004 has a price is Euro 6,200 / US$ 6,500.
Omega has been worn on the wrist of James Bond since GoldenEye in 1995, when the spy was first seen on screen wearing his own Seamaster Diver 300M. This year, the Swiss brand celebrates the 50th anniversary of the film "On Her Majesty’s Secret Service" with the Seamaster Diver 300M "James Bond", a limited edition of 7,007 pieces.
The 42 mm stainless steel case of the new watch is enhanced by a unidirectional rotating bezel made from ceramic with the diving scale in white enamel for longer-lasting whiteness and durability.
The spiral-brushed black ceramic dial is laser-engraved with James Bond’s iconic gun barrel design; the diameter of its centre is exactly 9mm. But there are other hidden details!
On the side of the case, OMEGA has placed an 18K yellow gold plate engraved with each unique Limited Edition number.
18K yellow gold has also been used to create the hands and indexes, including the index at 12 o’clock, which is inspired by the Bond family coat-of-arms.
On the 7th day of every month, the number 7 on the date disc has been produced in the legendary 007 font.
To remark the special 50th anniversary that inspired the creation of this model, a secret number 50 is revealed in the dark on the luminescent material of the 10 o'clock hour marker.
On the inner side of the sapphire crystal caseback, we find the Bond family coat-of-arms metallised in gold and black. Inside, the automatic Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 beats at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 55 hours. It features a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring and it is enhanced by rhodium plated finish with Geneva waves in arabesque.
The movement is tested according to the Master Chronometer certification process approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) whose testing criteria include: the average daily precision of the whole watch, precision of the movement when it is not yet cased (like COSC), deviation of daily precision after exposure to 15,000 gauss magnetic field, precision when the movement is fully wound or near to the end of the power reserve (because it changes a lot), water resistance, and anti-magnetic resistance of the movement alone as well as of the entire watch.
Water resistant to 30 bar (300 metres / 1000 feet), the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M "James Bond" Limited Edition ref. 210.22.42.20.01.004 is matched on a black rubber strap and delivered in a special presentation box containing a travel pouch, a strap-changing tool and an additional stainless steel bracelet. The price is Euro 6,200 / US$ 6,500. omegawatches.com
