Worldwide renowned for the creation of watches with a single hand to indicate the time, German watchmaker MeisterSinger has a rich catalogue that includes watches with various types of complications while adhering to the aesthetic principles of the brand.
Winner of several prizes, including the Red Dot Design Award, the GOOD Design Award, and the German Design Award, the Pangaea Day Date is one of these models and one of MeisterSinger's most popular timepieces.

Showing the time, the date, and the weekday at a glance, the Pangaea Day Day maintains the peculiarity of featuring a single hour hand. Reading the time is easy and even fun once you get accustomed to the concept of a single hand sweeping over the 12 hours divided by 144 markers, each representing 5 minutes.
The date and day of the week are indicated by means of two concentric rings that rotate openly and well balanced in the center of the dial. Each day at midnight they advance by one step showing the current date and day of the week just below 12 o'clock, as highlighted by the small red arrow above the MeisterSinger logo. Nothing disturbs the symmetrical smoothness of the dial.
The colours of the dial - a shimmering sunburst blue background alternated by a matte sand gray used for the edge of the dial and the two day-date rings - create a pleasing contrast, with the blue hues that change depending on how the light strikes the watch. White typography and red markings, also on the tip of the single hand, make it easier to read the indications.
The round case is 40 mm in diameter and 10.5 mm high, domed sapphire crystal included. Crafted from stainless steel, it features a satin-brushed finish which enhances the sporty character of the timepiece, guaranteeing water-resistance up to 5 bar (approximately 50 metres / 165 feet).
The lugs are slightly curved for excellent comfort on the wrist. The extra-large crown is adorned with an embossed MeisterSinger logo - the musical notation for a pause (and, in some way, an invitation to decelerate our hectic lives).
The Pangaea Day Date is powered by a highly reliable self-winding movement (ETA 2836-2 or Sellita SW 220-1) visible through the the sixfold screwed glass exhibition back.
Beating a frequency of 4 Hz ( 28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers a power reserve of 38 hours. The movement is carefully refined and its rotor is engraved with the logo of the brand.
Matched to a dark brown cordovan leather strap, the new MeisterSinger Pangaea Day Date ref. PDD9Z17S with blue and sand gray dial has a retail price of Euro 1,990 that we consider attractive for a timepiece with character, flawless finishes and a truly unique look. Not to mention that, with its only hand that seems not to care about seconds, it helps reminding that we should try to have a more relaxed way to consider the passing of time. meistersinger.com
