A. Lange & Soehne Little Lange 1 Moon Phase 25th Anniversary ref. 182.066. Not just smaller in diameter compared to the standard Lange 1 Moon Phase, the new Little Lange 1 Moon Phase “25th Anniversary” by A. Lange & Söhne is characterized by a unique detail: a hand-engraved lunar disc crafted from white gold. The A. Lange & Söhne Little Lange 1 Moon Phase “25th Anniversary” has a price of Euro 43,400.
Not just smaller in diameter compared to the standard Lange 1 Moon Phase (36.8 mm vs 38.5 mm), the new Little Lange 1 Moon Phase “25th Anniversary” by A. Lange & Söhne is characterized by a unique detail: an artistic, hand-engraved lunar disc crafted from white gold.
The ninth of a total of ten special models created to commemorate the 25th anniversary since the presentation of the iconic Lange 1 on 24 October 1994, this exclusive edition will be limited to just 25 pieces worldwide.
The distinctive elements of the Lange 1 anniversary edition are all there: a white-gold case, an argenté-coloured dial in solid silver with blue-toned inscriptions and blued steel hands.
The dial layout is typical: on the left the off-centre hours and minutes dial and on the right, from top to bottom, the signature outsize date, an UP/DOWN power-reserve indicator, and the small seconds sub-dial integrating the extremely moon phase display (assuming that the watch runs continuously, the display would only have to be corrected by one day every 122.6 years).
Embellished by six stars and numerous little dots depicting the starry sky, the hand-engraved lunar disc is a poetic background for the golden moons.
The colour concept is reprised also on the caseback with the blue-filled engraving of the balance cock in German silver features a depiction of the outsize date with the number “25” to match the anniversary.
Each balance cock is truly unique. In fact, the motif of a flower around the screw in the middle of the cock, surrounded by floral patterns, is individually reproduced by every engraver who, for instance, can decide how many petals the flower should have. Additionally, each balance cock has its own inimitable momentum, depth of cut and angle of the lines. The angle influences the gloss of the component because it determines how much incident light is reflected.
Meticulously finished, polished and decorated by hand, the manufacture calibre L121.2 runs at a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour with an autonomy of 72 hours.
