IWC unveiled eleven new models that enrich the Portofino line, five for Ladies and six for Gentlemen.
Inspired by the classic rounded designs of the fifties and sixties and named after the renowned Italian village, the Portofino was introduced in 1984 soon becoming one of the pillars of the IWC catalogue.
2019’s new Portofino watches for women are some of the smallest across IWC’s entire portfolio. With a reduced diameter of 34 millimetres, the five new models hark back to the very first Portofino collection which had similarly-sized timepieces for slender wrists, and are available in either in 18-carat rose gold or stainless steel cases, with silver- plated, blue, or green dials, all of which feature diamonds on the case or dial.
The new strap changing system makes it is easy to swap between 12 different strap options - crafted by leather goods maker Santoni - offered in an array of hand-coloured shades, in addition to a Milanese stainless steel mesh bracelet.
All powered by the self-winding Calibre 35100 beating at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph) with a power reserve of 42 hours, the new reference for Ladies are the following:
- IW357403: Stainless-steel case, silver-plated dial with 12 diamonds, gold appliqués and gold-plated hands, dark brown alligator leather strap.
- IW357404: Stainless-steel case, blue dial with 12 diamonds, rhodium-plated hands and appliqués, Milanese mesh bracelet in stainless steel
- IW357405: Stainless-steel case, green dial with 12 diamonds, rhodium-plated hands and appliqués, green alligator leather strap.
- IW357401: 18-carat rose gold case, silver-plated dial with 12 diamonds, gold appliqués and gold-plated hands, burgundy alligator leather strap.

Portofino’s line for men has been refreshed for this year too, and welcomes six new models to its selection.

Thus far only appearing in 37mm or 45mm models, this new size will be available in two stainless steel variations: one with a silver-plated dial, gold-plated hands and appliqués and a brown alligator leather strap (ref.
