After the three-hand Omega Planet Ocean with orange ceramic bezel, today we highlight its bigger brother, the chronograph version.
The new Omega Planet Ocean 600M Co‑Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph with Orange Bezel comes in an imposing 45.5 mm stainless steel case integrating a vivid ceramic bezel ring with a diving scale filled with white liquid ceramic and Super-LumiNova. The screw-down pushers are also given a touch of color thanks to their polished ceramic rings. The Helium escape valve visible at 10 o'clock makes it possible to guarantee water resistance to 60 bar (600 metres / 2,000 feet).
Protected by a domed scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment on both sides, the ceramised titanium dial offers excellent readability thanks to the contrasting rhodium-plated hands and indexes, as well as orange touches such as the varnished hand on the 3 o’clock subdial, the applied number 12 and the tip of the central seconds hand.
Omega is matching this new model to a 5-stripe orange, grey and white polyamide NATO strap. The design includes a buckle and strap keepers in polished stainless steel.
The Master Chronometer Calibre 9900 is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hours, this self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial escapement offers a power reserve of 60 hours (2 barrels mounted in series). Equipped with a silicon balance-spring, it is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss.
The movement and the full watch have been officially certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
