2019 marks the 10th anniversary of the Harry Winston collection dedicated to the tourbillon, one of the most appreciated feat in fine watchmaking.
With the Histoire de Tourbillon 10, the brand founded in New York in 1932 uses four distinct tourbillons for the first time in one of its collections. The new Histoire de Tourbillon 10 is presented in three variations: 10 pieces in white gold (ref. HCOMQT53WW001), 10 in rose gold (ref. HCOMQT53RR001) and a special edition Winstonium model, limited to just one unique piece (ref. HCOMQT53PP001).

With the Histoire de Tourbillon 10, the brand founded in New York in 1932 uses four distinct tourbillons for the first time in one of its collections.
Arranged in symmetrical order at the corners of the rectangular dial, the four independent regulating organs rotate in 36 seconds, with a series of three differentials averaging the timing of the four oscillators and thus improve chronometric performance.
The first differential is connected to the two tourbillons on the left, while the second is connected to those on the right side. The third, which is larger and located in a central position, does the job of averaging the two previous differentials and transmitting its information to the juxtaposed hands.
Two pairs of fast-winding barrels that are overlaid, mounted successively, and then connected to the tourbillons, further improve precision. In fact, thanks to this approach the energy is not shared across the four corners of the movement, but distributed as required.

The 53.3 mm wide and 39.1 mm tall rectangular case houses the HW4702 caliber which, supported by two transverse bridges, has no less than 673 components. Beating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vph), this hand-wound movement has a power reserve of 55 hours.
The surface coloring of the HW4702 caliber rounds out the personality of the three versions of Histoire de Tourbillon 10. The white gold model features rhodium-plated tourbillon bridges and a dark gray platinum. This shade is repeated on the back of the barrel bridge. The version with the rose gold case inverts its colors in the barrel bridges and features a rhodium-plated platinum.
Finally, the unique Winstonium piece can be recognized by its two large blue tourbillon bridges, a color borrowed from the gearwheel bridges inside the case, while the rest of the platinum is completely rhodium-plated.
The dial of the Histoire de Tourbillon 10 is a single component sapphire piece whose central part is a hollow circle that hosts the 12 hour markers for the chapter ring. It extends upwards and downwards through a rectangular extension that carries the two large numbers 6 and 12. The bezel is chamfered and beveled, with two notches at 6 and 12 o'clock tracing the three Harry Winston arches, a reference to the architecture of the entrance to the iconic Fifth Avenue Showroom in New York.
Water resistant to a pressure of 3 bar (30 meters / 100 feet), the new models are matched to alligator leather straps with stitches in platinum thread (white gold and Winstonium models) or in rose gold. Price on request. harrywinston.com
