Breguet is expanding its Marine collection with a new bracelet option for its three Titanium models: the three hand model, the chronograph and the alarm watch with second time zone function.
This way, the Swiss brand further emphasises the sporty DNA of these timepieces that successfully combine the elegance typical of the brand with strong character.
Titanium offers exceptional properties for a watch whose inspiration is the world of seafaring. In fact, it is highly resistant to salty air and corrosion, very light and extremely robust.
Breguets's artisans applied their know-how in designing a titanium bracelet where each of its links is enhanced by a satin-brushed finish, one that requires great mastery to obtain perfectly homogeneous micro-grooving. Its case is also satin-brushed, while the bezel has been polished, which creates different light effects and subtle contrasts.
In these Marine models, titanium is paired to a sunburst slate-gray dial in gold for a contemporary and refined look.
The Marine 5517 displays the date at 3 o’clock, housed in an hours chapter with Roman numerals. The latter are coated with a luminescent material, as are the minutes markings and the Breguet hands. The maritime world is evoked by the seconds hand bearing a “B” in a reinterpreted version of the corresponding maritime signal flag. The case has a diameter of 40 mm and it is water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet. The 4 Hz (28,800 vph) Calibre 777A with 55 hours of power reserve is visible through the sapphire crystal, which is framed by an engine-turned decoration reminiscent of boat decks.
The Breguet Marine 5517 in Titanium with matching bracelet (ref. 5517TI/G2/TZ0) has a price of Euro 19,700.
The Marine Chronographe 5527 comes in a 42.3 mm case also offering water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet. The measurement of the time occurs through a central chronograph hand and two subdials at 3 o’clock for the minutes and at 6 o’clock for the hours. The small seconds is indicated at 9 o’clock. A date indication between 4 and 5 o’clock sets the final touch. The self-winding Calibre 582QA, beats at a frequency of 4 Hz with a power reserve of 48 hours. It is fitted with an inverted in-line lever escapement with silicon horns as well as with a balance spring in silicon.
The price of the Breguet Marine Chronographe 5527 in Titanium with matching bracelet (ref. 5527TI/G2/TW0) is Euro 23,800.
Finally, the Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 incorporates the 4 Hz 519F caliber, and includes an alarm function, a display for a second time zone, and the date. When the striking mechanism is triggered, a ship’s bell appears through an opening at 12 o’clock. The alarm and second time-zone indications appear in two separate subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock. This 40 mm model offers a power reserve of 45 hours and water resistance is 50 metres / 165 feet.
The price of the Breguet Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 (ref. 5547TI/G2/TZ0) is Euro 30,800. breguet.com
