Following the introduction of the first Black Bay Bronze model with a chocolate brown dial in 2016, at Baselworld 2019 Tudor is now offering this successful model in a new slate-grey version with shaded dial. The Tudor Black Bay Bronze with Slate-Grey Dial and Bezel (ref. 79250BA) has a price of Swiss Francs 3,850.
Following the introduction of the first Black Bay Bronze model with a chocolate brown dial in 2016, Tudor is now offering this successful model in a new slate-grey version with shaded dial.
The central feature of the new Black Bay Bronze model is the 43 mm bronze case, a material that is strongly associated to naval equipment for its resistance to corrosion and that, over time, will produce a unique patina. The satin-brushed finishes of the case guarantee homogeneous development of such patina. The bronze screw-down winding crown is embellished by an engraved Tudor rose.
The combination of a slate-grey dial, shaded from the exterior to the centre, and a bezel coupled with gold accents found on the hands and hour markers completes the model's aesthetics. The unidirectional rotatable bezel in bronze features a 60-minute graduated disc in matt slate-grey anodised aluminium.
The dial adopts the characteristic angular hands known to collectors as "snowflake" that appeared in the brand’s 1969 catalogue.
Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of 70 hours, the Manufacture Calibre MT5601 that drives the Black Bay Bronze model measures 33.8 millimetres, the widest diameter of all Tudor's calibres. It displays the hours, minutes and seconds functions, and its appearance and finishes are typical of Manufacture calibres of the brand. Its openwork rotor is satin-brushed with sand-blasted details, and its bridges and plate have alternating polished sand-blasted surfaces and laser decorations.
Designed to ensure robustness, longevity and reliability, it features a variable inertia balance maintained by a traversing bridge with a two-point fixation. Thanks to these qualities, together with its non-magnetic silicon balance spring, the calibre is certified as a chronometer by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
The watch is matched to a slate-grey woven jacquard strap recognisable by its gold-coloured thread. A second option is an aged black leather strap.
Waterproof to 200 metres / 660 feet, the Tudor Black Bay Bronze with Slate-Grey Dial and Bezel (ref. 79250BA) has a price of Swiss Francs 3,850. tudorwatch.com
