Omega presented a new stainless steel version of the Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer in steel has a price of Euro 8,500 with rubber strap (ref. 220.12.43.22.03.001) or Euro 8,700 with steel bracelet (ref. 220.10.43.22.03.001).
Following the limited edition in platinum presented in 2017, Omega presented a new stainless steel version of the Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer.
The 43 mm brushed and polished case is water resistant to 150 metres / 500 feet and can be matched to a stainless steel bracelet or to a blue rubber strap integrated with the watch through a solid polished link.
The sun-brushed blue dial includes the Aqua Terra’s vertical teak stripes, as well as a new inner ring. The dial is surrounded by a circle of global destinations, including the city of Bienne at GMT+1, Omega's home in Switzerland. Destinations are printed in red (GMT), silvery (+1h in summer) and blue (places without daylight savings).
The centre of the dial contains a 24-hour hesalite crystal ring. The light blue half indicates daytime, while the dark blue half indicates night.
The central representation of the Earth - a view down over the North Pole - was obtained by laser-ablating a grade 5 titanium plate to create the blue ocean and leave a relief of the continents.
The contrasting colours of the Earth’s surface are obtained naturally by the laser’s chemical reaction.
The movement of choice is the self-winding Master Chronometer Calibre 8938 with Co-Axial escapement. It features a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring and offers a power reserve of 60 hours.
Movement and watch are tested according to the Master Chronometer certification process approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) whose testing criteria include: the average daily precision of the whole watch, precision of the movement when it is not yet cased (like COSC), precision when the movement is fully wound or near to the end of the power reserve, water resistance, and anti-magnetic resistance of the movement alone as well as of the entire watch to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss.

Nice watch. Maybe a bit too large at 43mm.
ReplyDeleteWorldtimer are often pretty large for readability. At 40 mm it would be harder to read the names of the cities.
Deletetrue... got the watch this week. even with 43mm it is difficult to read. otherwise a beautiful watch
ReplyDeleteI know the problem but who cares its a beautiful watch
