The new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yacht‑Master 42 equipped with calibre 3235, a first for the Yacht-Master range. This self-winding mechanical movement incorporates the new Chronergy escapement patented by Rolex, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorus, it is also insensitive to magnetic interference.
An optimized blue Parachrom hairspring is fitted to the oscillator, the true heart of the watch. Patented and manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive paramagnetic alloy, it is up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks.
Calibre 3235 is equipped with a self-winding module via a Perpetual rotor. Thanks to its new barrel architecture and the escapement’s superior efficiency, the power reserve of the movement extends to approximately 70 hours.
The Yacht-Master’s new Oysterflex bracelet, developed and patented by Rolex, offers a sporty alternative to metal bracelets without compromising robustness, waterproofness or reliability. At its core lies a superelastic metal blade overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer.
For enhanced comfort, the inside of the Oysterflex bracelet is equipped with a patented longitudinal cushion system that stabilises the watch on the wrist.
Like all Rolex watches, the Yacht-Master 42 carries the Superlative Chronometer certification which applies to the fully assembled watch, after casing the movement to guarantee a precision of the order of −2/+2 seconds per day.

When I first saw this model I though it was in stainless steel. It was disappointing to discover it is in white gold. Will this model produced also in steel in the future?
