German watchmaker Moritz Grossmann presented its first dual time model. Simply named GMT, the new watch displays two time zones in an elegant way while offering readability at first glance. The 41 mm x 11.85 mm case is available in either rose (ref. MG-002154) or white gold (ref. MG-002225) with an argenté dial. The white gold model is also available with a warm champagne-toned dial (ref. MG-002155).

The central hands shows the time in the first time zone on the classical 12-hour scale. The second time can be read on the outer 24-hour scale which also indicates whether it is day or night in that zone.
A separate hand element in compact arrow form shows the respective hour. The smaller crown at 10 o’clock allows the arrow indicator to be quickly adjusted in hourly increments both forwards and backwards without affecting the central 12-hour display.
The 24-hour display follows the 12-hour hand when the centre time is set using the main crown.
The new GMT is equipped with the calibre 100.8 beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour with a 42-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal back, the movement features the typical Moritz Grossmann traits, such as the 2/3 plate with the raised gold chatons, the Grossmann ratchet, the separately removable winding unit with pusher mechanism and the cantilevered balance cock with micrometer screw, as well as the mass-optimised balance.
When the user pulls the winding crown out, the distinctive Moritz Grossmann winder switches to the hand setting mode and simultaneously stops the movement. The crown immediately returns to its home position but can now be turned to precisely set the hands. Once ready, the movement can be restarted by pressing the push button at 4 o’clock so avoiding the possibility to alter the positions of the hands. At the same time, the mechanism switches back to the winding mode.
The mechanism for the second time is integrated into the movement on the dial side. The 24-hour display is transmitted via the hour wheel of the centre time to another hour wheel and an intermediate wheel to the ring of the second time zone.

The lance-shaped hands are handcrafted in the manufactory, finished and annealed in dark brown. For the white gold model with argenté dial, the entire set of hands is polished stainless steel.
