Parmigiani Fleurier revisited the aesthetics of the Toric, the first watch designed by Michel Parmigiani. The Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronomètre (ref. PFC423-1600201-HA1241) introduces a beautiful slate-coloured guilloché dial evoking the spiral pattern of a pine cone, one of the many examples of the Golden Ratio. The price has not yet been announced but it should be around Euro 20,000.
Parmigiani Fleurier revisited the aesthetics of the Toric, one of the flagship models of the brand as well as the first watch designed by Michel Parmigiani.
The result is the Toric Chronomètre Slate, a preview of the novelties that the Swiss brand will present at the upcoming Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) that will be held in Geneva January 14-17, 2019.
The new model introduces a beautiful slate-coloured guilloché dial evoking the spiral pattern of a pine cone, one of the many examples of the Golden Ratio that we find in Nature. The guilloché decoration is an artisanal technique, requiring great mastery and experience, in which the material is engraved to produce a repeating decorative pattern.
The dial is completed by elegant javelin-shaped and semi-openworked hands complemented by a subtle minute track around the circumference and finely proportioned Arabic numerals. The elliptical Parmigiani Fleurier logo and the word "Chronomètre", remarking that the movement has been certified by COSC (Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute), stand out at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock respectively.
The 40.8 mm red gold case is characterized by a hand-knurled bezel. Knurling consists of manipulating the material with a wheel that leaves the imprint of its notches in the metal. Carefully made by hand, each knurling is unique.
Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve off 55 hours, the self-winding PF441-COSC movement is finely decorated with Côtes de Genève and bevelled bridges.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronomètre (ref. PFC423-1600201-HA1241) is completed by an alligator strap crafted by Hermès. The price has not yet been announced but it should be around Euro 20,000. parmigiani.com
