A pre-SIHH2019 novelty. When developing the new Laureato Perpetual Calendar, Girard-Perregaux focused on creating a timepiece that could remain simple to read and easy to adjust. The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Perpetual Calendar Ref. 81035-11-431-11A has a price of Swiss Francs 34,500.
When developing the new Laureato Perpetual Calendar, Girard-Perregaux focused on creating a timepiece that could remain simple to read and easy to adjust.
In addition to the hours and minutes, the Laureato Perpetual Calendar indicates the day, date, month and nature of the current year, whether leap or not.
The perpetual calendar complication is able to take into account the months with 30 and 31 days, the 28 days of February and also the leap year cycle with the return of 29th of February every four years. Assuming that the watch runs continuously, this highly complicated calendar will not require any corrections until March 1st 2100.
The white indications stand out against the blue dial adorned with a Clous de Paris hobnail pattern and protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-glare treatment on both sides. The indications are arranged in a pretty unusual order: the days are shown at 9 o'clock and the pointer-type date display between 2 and 3 o'clock, while the month appears through a large window at 6 o'clock, marked by an off-centred pointer at 5 o'clock. Just above it, the textured area divided into four sections indicates the leap year.
Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with a power reserve of 54 hours, the in-house developed and produced Calibre GP01800-0033 makes it possible to adjust all indications via the crown and just one push-button.
The setting of date, month and type of year (leap or non-leap year) is accessible by the crown and operates in both directions, thereby ensuring exceptional user friendliness. The single push-button at 8 o'clock controls the day cycle.
Beautifully finished and decorated with Côtes de Genève, the movement is only 6 mm high, helping designers to limit the overall thickness of the watch to 11.84 mm.
Characterized by an octagonal polished bezel inscribed in a circle, the 42 mm case is carved from a single block of stainless steel alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes, just like the matching bracelet secured by a triple-blade folding clasp.
The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Perpetual Calendar Ref. 81035-11-431-11A is water resistant to 100 meters / 330 feet and has a price of Swiss Francs 34,500. girard-perregaux.com
