Officine Panerai expanded its Luminor collection with three new models characterized by a long power reserve of 8 days and 44 mm cases.
The Luminor 8 Days Power Reserve Acciaio PAM00795 has an AISI 316L stainless steel case and a classic black sandwich dial with the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock and, for the first time in this model, the power reserve indicator at 5 o’clock, with the arrow hand inspired by some Panerai watches of the late 1990s. The beige Super-LumiNova on the dial matches the brown leather strap and its beige sewing.
The Luminor 8 Days Power Reserve Titanio PAM00797 has the same functions and the same design as the steel version but the case and the device for protecting the winding crown are made of titanium, with brushed finish and polished edges. The titanium used for the case is Grade 5, an alloy with excellent mechanical properties and resistance to corrosion, as well as being about 40% lighter than steel.
Both the PAM00795 and PAM00797 have a solid back case and are powered by the hand-wound P.5002 manufacture calibre.
The third creation, the Luminor Left-Handed 8 Days Acciaio PAM00796, features a steel case with a black sandwich dial and a strap of the same colour. The winding crown and its protecting device are positioned at 9 o’clock, a solution conceived for left-handed and for those who prefer to wear the watch on the right wrist.
In this case, the power reserve indicator of the eight-day P.5001 hand-wound movement is visible through the sapphire crystal porthole in the back, as is the bridge with twin supports which firmly fixes the balance wheel.
The prices of the Panerai Luminor 8 Days Power Reserve models are as follows:
- PAM795 Euro 6,800
- PAM796 Euro 6,700
- PAM797 Euro 7,200
All models are water-resistant to 30 bar (a depth of about 300 metres / 990 feet) and are supplied with a second strap made of rubber – black in the case of the steel models and brown for the titanium one – as well as a small steel screwdriver enabling the strap to be replaced easily and quickly. panerai.com
