MeisterSinger, the specialist of single-handed watches, presented new black variations for some of its most popular models.
The stainless steel cases of four MeisterSinger classics have been coated with jet-black carbon and then sandblasted to provide an attractive matt finish. Not only attractive, the diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating also makes these watches particularly hardwearing and rugged.
All four watches have a diameter of 43 mm and feature detailed dials designed in matt jet black to create a strong contrast with hands and digits.
The contrast effect is repeated on the backs, with the glass exhibition offering a view of the meticulously finished movements.
The new watches are completed by robust saddle leather straps underscoring the strong character of the timepieces. We list the four new models below.
MeisterSinger No.03 Black Line
Framed by the black DLC-coated and sandblasted case, the dial of the No.03 Black Line is coloured in “old radium” with four red hour markers and a red-tipped hand. The glass exhibition window set in the back, which is also matt black, provides an excellent view of the automatic Swiss movement (base ETA 2824-2 or Sellita 200-1) beating at 28,800 vph and offering 38 hours of power reserve. Price: Euro 1,790.
MeisterSinger Perigraph Black Line
With its open date disk, the Perigraph has become a classic model in the MeisterSinger collection and its design has won a number of awards. In the Black Line version, the section of the hand which moves around the hour circle is marked red with small red indices giving the date disk a striking visual contrast. The screwed-in back of the case is also coated in matt black DLC.
This model is driven by a 4 Hz automatic movement, also based on ETA 2824-2 or Sellita 200-1, guaranteeing an autonomy of 38 hours. Price: Euro 1,890.
MeisterSinger Salthora Meta Black Line
With the Salthora, MeisterSinger maintains one single hand but in this case it only indicates the minutes. Instead, the hour is indicated using the "jumping hour" display principle through a round window at 12 o'clock.
For this model, MeisterSinger developed a module for the Swiss automatic ETA 2824-2 (or Sellita 200-1) movement fulfilling three main requirements: the jump takes place precisely on the hour, the hour number leaps into the exact centre of the window in the blink of an eye and the force required for this to happen, which is supplied by the same barrel as the rest of the watch movement, does not interfere with the smooth running of the movement. It offers a power reserve a 38 hours.
The dial features typography with instrument-like “old radium” colouring and a red-tipped hand. Price: Euro 2,890.
MeisterSinger Circularis Power Reserve Black Line
The flagship of the MeisterSinger collection, fitted with an in-house designed hand-wound MSH02 movement and a power reserve display, shows a bolder look in this black variation.
The 28,800 vph movement, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, offers a long power reserve of 120 hour, or 5 days, thanks to the twin in-series mainspring barrels.
Both the time of day and the power reserve are indicated by hands with red markings. The date display in red is also accentuated, transforming the black dial of this Circularis into an instrument panel. Price: Euro 5,490. meistersinger.com
