Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Power Reserve Ceramic Clous de Paris. Housed in a 44 mm glossy black ceramic case, the dial of the new Grande Seconde Power Reserve Ceramic Clous de Paris comes in midnight-blue with a distinctive Clous de Paris finish. The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Power Reserve Ceramic Clous de Paris with blued dial (ref. J027035542) is a limited series of 28 pieces with a price of Swiss Francs 17,300.
After the Grande Seconde Power Reserve Black Ceramic with black dial that we presented in August 2017, Jaquet Droz is now launching a new variation of this model that boldly combines classic elements with hi-tech materials.
Housed in a 44 mm glossy black ceramic case, the dial of the new Grande Seconde Power Reserve Ceramic Clous de Paris comes in midnight-blue with a distinctive Clous de Paris finish, a special type of guilloché work made up of criss-crossed lines that form small pyramids. But, if you look closely, you will notice that in this model the traditional finish is reinterpreted with a struck dial where the pyramids are recessed. The result is fascinating with a textured surface that changes appearance depending on how it catches the light.
The black ceramic of the case is not only highly attractive but also virtually scratch-proof and unalterable, making the watch suitable for everyday use.
Thanks to its two barrels, the Grande Seconde’s self-winding movement ensures a power reserve of 68 hours, indicated on the dial by a semi-circular sector whose gold colour harmonizes with the three 18K red gold hands: hours and minutes at 12 o’clock, off-centered large seconds at 6 o’clock.
The two sub-dials combine Roman and Arabic numerals and intersect to create the figure 8, the symbol of Jaquet Droz.
The precision of the 4 Hz (28,800 vph) Calibre 2663A-S — visible through the sapphire crystal case back — is guaranteed by a silicon escapement (balance spring and pallet lugs), making it resistant to variations in magnetic fields and temperatures.
Completed by a rolled-edged hand-made fabric strap matched to the exact colour of the dial, the Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Power Reserve Ceramic Clous de Paris with blue dial (ref. J027035542) is a limited series of 28 pieces, certified by an individual number engraved on the case back, with a price of Swiss Francs 17,300. jaquetdroz.com
