IWC is launching a new edition of the Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph as part of its "Summer Editions" collection.
Housed in a 43.5 mm stainless steel case with integrated crown guard and secured to the wrist by a comfortable and robust blue rubber strap, the new Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph is a perfect watch for most sea and beach activities as well as an ideal navigation instrument for sailing trips. Thanks to the screw-in crown, the round case is water resistant to 6 bar (60 metres / 200 feet).
The blue dial with white counters, rhodium-plated hands and the red second hand of the chronograph contribute to the sporty and dynamic look of the timepiece. The Yacht Club is the only Portugieser model to feature luminescent hands and indices.
Visible through the transparent case-back in sapphire crystal, the IWC-manufactured self-winding 89361-calibre beats at 28,800 vibrations per hours and offers 68 hours of power reserve.
The movement features a flyback function and aggregate timing of up to 12 hours, shown by an analogue display with two hands in the subdial at 12 o'clock. The sportiest version of the Portugieser also features a quarter-second scale on the outer ring of the dial for clocking short times.
The IWC Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph (Ref. IW390507) has a price of Euro 12,300.
As part of its "Summer Editions" line, IWC is also launching a special collection of fabric straps in pale blue or light grey colours that can be matched to popular models of the brand like the Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII and Pilot's Watch Chronograph, the Portofino Automatic and Portofino Chronograph, and the Portugieser Chronograph. The new straps are available at any IWC boutique. Some examples are shown in the pictures below. iwc.com
