IWC is adding two new models to its rich Portugieser collection.
The first model is the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar which houses its complication in a precious 44.2 mm platinum case, a first for this model.
Corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic, platinum has a white-grey tone that perfectly matches the silver-plated dial with rhodium-plated hands and appliques.
The new model is powered by the IWC 52615 manufacture calibre beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The Pellaton winding is fitted with ceramic components that are practically wear-free, and builds up a power reserve of seven days with its oscillating weight made from solid 18 carat red gold. Beautifully finished with Côtes de Genève and perlage, the movement can be admired through a see-through sapphire glass back.
The mechanism identifies different month lengths and leap years automatically and will work until 2100 without needing any correction. This version of the calendar comes with a double moon display that gives an inverted view of the moon phases for both the northern and southern hemispheres.
