Both models are crafted from stainless steel treated using Sinn's Tegiment technology which hardens the surfaces by means of a special process which creates a protective layer ("tegimentum" in Latin). The result is a surface which is extremely resistant to scratches.
The diameter is 43 mm for both while thickness is 10.6 mm for the 836 and 15 mm for the 936 chronograph. Water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, they offer protection to magnetic fields up to 80,000 A/m.
The 836 is a no-frills timepiece which focuses on the essential displaying hour, minute, second and date. Readability is excellent, even in the dark thanks to the rich white Super-LumiNova coating used for hours/minutes hands and indices which really stand out against the matte black dial. The seconds hand gleams in red to enhance the dynamic look for the watch.

Sharing many design elements of the 836, the 936 Chronograph is characterised by the bicompax arrangement of the counters.
Based on a self-winding 4 Hz Valjoux 7750, the chronograph movement SZ05 was redesigned in house and modified to give the chronograph minute subdial at 3 o'clock a 60-minute scale instead of the usual 30-minute. Both chronograph hands are red making them clearly stand from the rest of the dial. The counter rings have an iridescent effect, caused by a fine central groove.
Optimum readability is also ensured in the dark, as the indices, hour and minute hands are coated in luminous white.
Offering the same strap/bracelet option of the 836, the Sinn 936 Chronograph has a starting price of Euro 2,890 when matched to a leather strap. sinn.de
