Czapek Quai des Bergues 38.5 mm, “Guilloché Ricochet” dials. Czapek keeps expanding its Quai des Bergues collection, originally launched in 2015 (we wrote about it here), with new colours and size variations. Among them, we like the new colorful models characterized by beautiful engine turned dials framed by stainless steel cases with a reduced size of 38.5 mm. The new Czapek Quai des Bergues 38.5 mm models with “Guilloché Ricochet” dials have a price of Swiss Francs 14,800.

Together with two traditional hues like silver and blue (the "Sea Salt Grey" and "Aqua Blue" models), available in limited edition of 15 pieces, Czapek introduced two colours rarely seen on engine turned dials: the “Red Rhubarb” and “Rainforest Green” versions, which will be available as limited editions of just 10 pieces.
While the silver and blue dials are enhanced with a galvanic coating that plays with light reflections, the red and green colours are too bold to receive a galvanic treatment, therefore Czapek & Cie opted for a lacquer coating on the hand engine-turned finish.
The two unusually positioned subdials — one that marks the small seconds at 7:30, the other, at 4:30, that marks the power reserve and the calendar days at the same time — contribute to the distinctive style of these models.
Finely decorated, the hand-wound Czapek Calibre SXH1 has two barrel springs and runs at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 168 hours, or seven days. It was developed for Czapek by Chronode, the Le Locle-based company of Jean-François Mojon (also known for his collaborations with MB&F, HYT, Urban Jürgensen and others).

Nice development. I prefer these hands and also the smaller diameter.
