The Saxonia Thin, the thinnest A. Lange & Söhne timepiece at just 6.2 mm thick, is now available with a new copper-blue dial crafted from solid silver and coated with a thin layer of subtly shimmering goldstone.
Framed by a white gold 39 mm case, this dial is an eye-catcher while offering excellent readability thanks to contrasting hour and minute hands and twelve hour markers in rhodiumed gold.
The manufacturing of this dial requires an elaborate process — originally developed in Venice in the 17th century — during which microscopically small copper oxide crystals saturate the deep blue with reflections that are reminiscent of the stars in the blue midnight sky.
The back side of the watch is not less fascinating with the display of the carefully finished hand-wound calibre L093.1 featuring a flat mainspring barrel which delivers a maximum power reserve of 72 hours despite its compact size and thickness — it is just 2.9 mm thick.
The upper sides of the ratchet and crown wheels are solarised and visibly integrated into the three-quarter plate decorated with Glashütte ribbing. A classic screw balance with a manufacture-made hairspring oscillates beneath the hand-engraved balance cock with the characteristic whiplash spring. The polished gold chatons, secured with blued screws, contribute to the distinctive look of this 3 Hz (21,600 vph) movement.
A dark-blue hand-stitched alligator leather strap nicely completes this unisex timepiece. The indicative price of the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin in copper blue (ref. 205.086) is Euro 20,800/ US$ 22,000. alange-soehne.com

While I think this is a watch for Ladies, I thick I could like it a lot on my wrist. I'd love to see it in the metal.
