Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda Metropolitaine Galaxy. Parmigiani Fleurier enriches its Tonda Métropolitaine Collection with a new version featuring a fascinating aventurine dial.
Small inclusions of metal give aventurine its characteristic textured appearance. Taking advantage of the natural composition of this material, Parmigiani is presenting the Tonda Métropolitaine Galaxy whose midnight-blue aventurine dial, mottled with fine golden fragments, looks like stars sparkling in the night sky. The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda Metropolitaine Galaxy (ref. PFC273-0060601) can be matched to an alligator leather or fabric strap.

The hands are skeletonised so as not to obscure the beauty of the dial and the appliques are made from white gold – gold being the distinctive feature of the indices on aventurine dials.
At 6 o'clock, the small seconds stands out on a midnight blue background, revealing the date on a matching date disc, which is half a shade darker.
A peculiarity of the Tonda Métropolitaine is the asymmetrical design of the 33.1 mm stainless steel case: the left-hand profile – devoid of the crown – is conventional, with two teardrop-shaped lugs while the right-hand profile features elongated lugs that extend to the crown. The steel bezel is set with 72 brilliant-cut diamonds, totalling ~0.51 carat.
The Tonda Métropolitaine's PF310 self-winding movement features a variable-inertia balance, which eliminates the need for the standard index-assembly. This innovation makes it possible to adjust the moment of inertia by rotating the inertia blocks rather than adjusting the active length of the balance-spring as required with a standard adjustment.
Benefits include more stability over the long term as well as improved isochrononism. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 Vph), it has an autonomy of 50 hours thanks to its double barrel which also enables a more stable, linear distribution of power than a single barrel.
