Blancpain Villeret Quantième à Phase de Lune
Powered by an automatic movement equipped with a glucydur balance wheel and a balance spring in silicon for top performances, the Blancpain Villeret Quantième à Phase de Lune comes with a stainless steel case topped by a bezel adorned with 48 full-cut diamonds and a nice set of five interchangeable straps. Thanks to the possibility to remove and exchange the strap by simply pressing the functional catches, the owner can quickly change the look of the watch for different occasions. Measuring 29.20 mm in diameter, the round case frames a matt white dial swept over by solid leaf-shaped hands, a pointer-type date display and a sapphire moon-phase indication. Glashütte Original Pavonina, new 2017 models
The German brand expanded its successful Pavonina collection with new models offering an wide range of colours. By combining dials, case metals, lugs, and bracelets, Glashütte Original was able to create such a large variety of models that any woman should be able to find its favourite. Gently curved, anthracite coloured font expressly developed for the Pavonina line, lends the Roman numerals – usually very sober and serious – a feminine and contemporary character that well harmonises with the iridescent natural mother-of-pearl dials. The cushion-shaped 31 mm x 31 mm case is available in stainless steel, red gold or in a mix of the two materials. IWC Da Vinci Automatic 36 and Da Vinci Automatic Moon Phase 36
Compared to the other models of the new collection launched by IWC in 2017, the Da Vinci Automatic 36 and Da Vinci Automatic Moon Phase 36 are not only smaller and slimmer, but also have a more feminine design, with rounded crowns and a less pronounced twin-frame bezel. The perfectly readable dials are characterized by a recessed inner circle adding a three-dimensional structure, Arabic numerals, lancet-shaped hands and a round date window at 6 o’clock. Thanks to the moving horns, the lugs do not protrude and the strap or bracelet is held comfortably close to slim wrists. All watches are equipped with automatic movements, are tested for water-resistance to 3 bar (30 metres / 100 feet) and have a power reserve of 42 hours. Moritz Grossmann TEFNUT Twist
With the new TEFNUT Twist, Moritz Grossmann introduced a new winding mechanism: the Grossmann strap winder. This ingenious alternative to the conventional crown winder allows the watch to be wound with turns of the strap attachment located at 6 o'clock in the case. The strap offers a big enough surface for a firm grip and, even with gloves or freshly applied nail polish, the watch can be fully wound with just a few twists of the strap. A backstop ratchet allows bidirectional winding while a bridle prevents damage that could be caused by excessive force. Slow-beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, the movement offers a power reserve of 48 hours when fully wound. The TEFNUT Twist with strap winder comes in three versions: "Classic", "Fancy", and "Gent" with rose-gold and white-gold cases. Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Papillon Automate
First showcased by Van Cleef & Arpels at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2017, the Lady Arpels Papillon Automate watch depicts the random fluttering of a butterfly, accompanying the passage of time against a bucolic backdrop. The butterfly is settled on a flower and, as the hours and minutes flow on the right, it comes to life with random beats of its wings, two to five times in a row, depending on the power reserve. When the watch is not being worn, the butterfly is set in motion 19 times per hour at irregular intervals. The butterfly can also be activated on demand: by pressing the push-button on the caseband the wings will beat five consecutive times. Enriched by several decorative techniques, the dial is framed by a 38 mm white gold case entirely set with diamonds. Full article.
