IWC Da Vinci Chronograph Laureus Edition
One of the highlights of the Da Vinci collection presented by IWC at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2017 was the Da Vinci Chronograph "Laureus Sport for Good Foundation" Edition featuring a 42 mm stainless steel case strongly characterised by the newly developed moving horns with curved lugs which ensure that the black alligator leather strap by Santoni fits wrists very comfortably. Omega Speedmaster “Speedy Tuesday” Limited Edition
The Speedmaster "Speedy Tuesday" Limited Edition was the first timepiece exclusively sold through the web by Omega. Inspired to the popular "#speedytuesday" Instagram hashtag, this Speedmaster edition was limited to 2012 pieces and sold out in few hours. Its design is inspired by Omega’s Speedmaster "Alaska Project III" model, created for NASA in 1978. Full article.
Richard Mille RM 50-03 McLaren F1
Produced in collaboration with the famed McLaren Formula 1 constructor, the Richard Mille RM 50-03 achieved an exceptional record as the lightest mechanical chronograph ever made. Combining a tourbillon with a split seconds chronograph, the RM 50-03 McLaren F1 weighs less than 40 grams, including the new strap. This astonishing result was achieved through the use of cutting-edge technical materials. The design not only incorporates Titanium and Carbon TPT, but also introduces an entirely new material into the world of watchmaking: Graph TPT, more commonly known as graphene. Full article.
Singer Reimagined Track 1
The result of the encounter between Rob Dickinson, the founder of Singer Vehicle Design, Marco Borraccino, a renowned Italian watch designer based in Geneva and master watchmaker Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, the Singer Reimagined Track 1 created lot of buzz for its innovative chronograph display taking centre-stage. The chronograph hours, minutes and seconds are coaxially mounted in the centre of the dial, allowing the elapsed time to be read easily and clearly with just a glance. Full article.
TAG Heuer Autavia
TAG Heuer celebrated the 55th Anniversary of the Autavia, with the release of a contemporary re-edition featuring updated functions. More imposing than its ancestor — 42 mm in diameter compared to 39 in the 1960s — with a 12-hour graduated bezel and a new Heuer-02 calibre proprietary chronograph movement, the latest generation Autavia carries the DNA and aesthetic codes of the original, updated for today's market. Tudor’s Heritage Black Bay collection expanded with its first in-house chronograph with self-winding movement, column wheel and vertical clutch. The new Heritage Black Bay Chrono preserved the key characteristics of the Black Bay - like the famous snowflake hands, a brand signature since 1969 - in a steel case with a 41-millimetre diameter, fitted with pushers inspired by the first generation of Tudor chronographs. Zenith Defy El Primero 21
21 like 21st century. With this new hundredths of a second El Primero chronograph movement, Zenith remarked its important place in watchmaking innovation. To avoid any risk that the chronograph interferes with the smooth running of the watch, the Defy El Primero 21 is equipped with two independent "gear boxes": one for the time and the other for the chronograph. Each has its own transmission and escapement system and there is no coupling clutch. The escapement for the watch beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), while the escapement for the chronograph at 360,000 vibrations per hour (50 Hz). Full article.
