Prix Gaïa 2017. Often described as the Nobel of watchmaking, the Prix Gaïa is an honorary award which, since 1993, recognises special achievements in three categories: "Artisanat création" (arts and creations), "Esprit d'entreprise" (entrepreneurship) and "Histoire" (history and research).
Every year it is assigned at the autumnal equinox, in 2017 falling on September 21. And in fact, yesterday evening, the Musée International d'Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds assigned the three Gaïa Awards 2017 in three categories. Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, the founder of Agenhor Atelier, was the winner in the Crafts, Creation category for its creative contribution in the register of watch complications, marrying functionality to aesthetics for the benefit of many brands. In the Entrepreneurship category, Richard Mille was awarded for the driving role played by his company in the definition of modern Swiss watchmaking
