Available in a new white gold case and enamel dial combination, the Classique 7787 embodies the key principles which inspire Breguet’s design code: purity of form, harmony of proportions and clarity of information.
The 39 mm case is well proportioned, with a thickness of just 10.2 mm, and beautifully refined with the signature fluted caseband.
It frames a precious “Grand Feu” enamel dial indicating hours, minutes and seconds with central hands as well as two additional indications: power reserve and age and phases of the moon at 12 o’clock and the 38-hour power reserve in the lower part.
The enamelling technique involves firing the watch face meticulously coated with successive layers of enamel at very high temperatures generally ranging from 800 to 900 degrees Celsius.
This process continues until the dial has attained a radiant whiteness and glowing texture. At this point, the famous Breguet numerals can be transferred on the enamel surface of the dial.
The beautiful open-tipped hands in blued steel add the final magic to this dial.
The moon phases can be corrected by pressing the push piece positioned on the caseband at 9 o’clock with the stylus provided with the watch.
The transparent sapphire crystal casebook offers a view of the self-winding Calibre 591DRL.
Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph), this movement is equipped with straight-line lever escapement and balance spring in silicon for exceptional performances in terms of accuracy and reliability.
Silicon is impervious to magnetic attraction and influence and, very important, highly resistant to corrosion and wear. Lighter and harder than steel, it reduces inertia, requires no lubricant and provides far greater geometric freedom, i.e. opportunities to turn out new and complex shapes.
Water-resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet, the Breguet Classique 7787 has a price of Euro 29,900.
Three more variations of this Classique reference are available: in rose gold with enamel dial, in white gold with guilloché dial and in rose gold with guilloché dial. breguet.com
